
Nu Fitness Has Made the Final Round for Best Personal Trainers in Oakland — Again
We’re incredibly honored and excited to share that Nu Fitness Oakland has officially made the final round / top 10 for Best Personal Trainers in Oakland & the East Bay Area for 2026 through Oakland Magazine. 🏆
This recognition means a lot to us — not just because of the award itself, but because of everything it represents.
Back in 2024, we honestly had no idea we had even been nominated. We suddenly found ourselves in the top 10 alongside incredible businesses throughout Oakland and the East Bay. Winning that year completely shocked us. It was one of those moments that felt surreal, especially because Nu Fitness started from a very simple idea:
Create a space where people feel supported, welcomed, challenged, and cared for — not judged.
Then in 2025, somehow, our community helped us do it again.
Now in 2026, being back in the final round once more, with the opportunity to potentially make it three years in a row, feels deeply meaningful to our entire team. 💚
More Than Just a Gym
What makes this recognition special to us is that it reflects something much bigger than workouts.
From the beginning, Nu Fitness has been about helping people build healthier, stronger, and more capable lives — physically and mentally. Fitness can absolutely improve aesthetics, but we’ve always believed the deeper value goes far beyond appearance.

Over the years, we’ve had the privilege of watching clients achieve things they once thought were impossible.
We’ve seen people return to movement after injuries. We’ve watched clients improve their strength, mobility, and confidence in ways that changed how they saw themselves. We’ve celebrated major milestones together — from first pull-ups to improved bone density scans to simply feeling comfortable and energized in their bodies again.
Those moments matter far more to us than any trophy ever could.
A Community Built Around Support
One of the things we’re most proud of is the community that has grown around Nu Fitness.
The gym has never been about intimidation or trying to fit a certain image. We wanted to create an environment where people from different backgrounds, ages, and experience levels could feel comfortable training together.
That culture is something our coaches and clients have built collectively over time.
